Different Uses for Cosmetic Packaging

The term cosmetic packaging refers to various secondary packaging and decorative packaging of personal care and fragrances products. Most personal care products are naturally occurring substances meant for beautifying, cleansing, and improving an improved look without changing the normal structure or workings of the body. These products include soaps, shampoos, creams, lotions, moisturizers, makeup, facial skincare, and more. In addition, cosmetic packaging also takes care of the aesthetic appearance of the items. Packaging helps protect the contents from damage, allowing the consumer to enjoy the benefits of the merchandise longer. Without the protective covering of the box, items would easily be damaged.

There are many different types of cosmetic packaging. The most common types include jewelry boxes, bottles, tins, tubes, jars, cases, bags, and more. Each type has its own purpose and usefulness. Here is a brief description of some of the different types:

Jewelry Boxes: The jewelry box is a typical, standard type of cosmetic packaging that comes in clear or color variants. It comes with locking lids that are easy to open for consumers to get at the contents. Some manufacturers must provide the option of having transparent lids for the transparent display of contents. This type of packaging must be made of sturdy material so that it does not break easily when being used. Some manufacturers may also opt to have adjustable dividers to fit different sizes of items.

Plastic Containers: A plastic container is ideal for cosmetic products that do not require a top closure but instead a bottom closure. This type of packaging is most commonly found in bath and body shops. The best plastic containers have dividers to accommodate varied sizes. Some manufacturers may even provide separate compartments for styling accessories such as brushes and combs. Some manufacturers may also offer clear compartments so that your products can be seen clearly. The color variant of this type of packaging is usually white.

Clear Plastic Bottles: Clear plastic bottles are used for products that do not need a top closure. This includes nail polish and eye shadow, lip balm and gloss, lip gloss, shower gel, soaps, and body soaps, conditioners, shampoos, and hair dyes. Most plastic containers come in standard sizes for this product type. Your cosmetic packaging manufacturer should be able to supply you with clear bottles of all sizes.

Containers with Lids: This type of cosmetic packaging has a solid lid that can either close or open. The lid can have one of several various sizes to accommodate whatever product you are packaging. The neck of the container may be adjustable so that you can add or subtract an insert. This type of cosmetic container must be made of sturdy material so that it does not break easily when being used. The insert can be made of flexible silicone material so that it fits snugly in the neck of the container.

Shapes: There are cosmetic packaging shapes for just about every product you can think of. From figurines to pens, to waterproofed canisters, there are plenty of shapes to fit your product into. You can also customize your cosmetic container to fit your product exactly. If you want to customize a bottle, simply get the measurements of your product and go to an online supplier and tell them what you want. They will then make the proper shape for your product based on your specifications.

Jars and Meals: There is another class of cosmetic packaging called jars and Meals. These are great for making personalized gifts. You can get different sized jars and then fill them with chocolates, candies, etc... Or, you could just get standard-sized jars and fill them with items that are useful to women like cosmetics, soaps, or other items that women need.
